The Mindanao Project 


The Mindanao Power Plant Project will address the challenge of attaining stability of electricity supply in Mindanao and sustain its economic growth. Since commercial operation in December 2006, the power plant provides additional electricity representing 15% of the island’s total power demand.

2 units of 105MW (net) Coal-Fired Thermal Units (installed capacity: 232MW)  Six-kilometer 138kV Transmission Line Five-kilometer underground raw water pipeline
 

Project Volume: US $ 305 million
 
Partners: STEAG GmbH (89 %) State Investment Trust, Inc. (11%)
 
Fuel: Imported hard coal / Local coal
 
Coal yard capacity: 150,000 tons
 
Start of construction work: December 01, 2003
 
Start of commercial operation: November 15, 2006
